List of northward-flowing rivers of the United States

Rivers in the United States that flow principally from south to north are less common than rivers that flow principally from north to south, due to the shape of the North American landmass and the location of most of the contiguous United States in the southern half of North America. The following is a list of northward-flowing U.S. rivers, sorted alphabetically by main river, and with the US and Mexican states and Canadian provinces which the river flows through or borders included in source-to-mouth order. When tributary rivers are listed alphabetically below a northward-flowing river in hierarchy, they also flow south-to-north.

I don't see the Missinnewa River listed here and it flows south to north. It's located in Indiana.

Did not find Pend Oreille River Id to BC. Starts Lake Pend Oreille flows NW and empties into the Columbia River in British Columbia.

I am a native Floridian. I have lived in Hernando County since my birth in 1948. Prior to the establishment of South West Florida Water Management the Withlachochee River in FL never went dry in Hernando County. As a young child, my parents took us fishing there more times than I can remember. We would catch our fish, and cook them on the river bank with fries and corn bread. For anyone who has ever read books written by Mark Twain, that is an excellent example of the way it was. Southwest Florida Water Management would have us believe that the lack of rain has caused the problems with our river. I do not believe this to be the truth when the Hillsborough River has not had the problem of going dry. The river started going dry after Walt Disney World was built and they created a river that did not exist and a giant lake. I have heard from others that they have built damns on the river to the south of Hernando County to stop the flow of the river. All I can say is it is not right to dry our river up. Where is EPA when we need them?
