List of bands whose members are all deceased

This is a list of musical groups or bands whose members are all deceased. It includes a date of when this point came about due to the death of the last member. This list will not include solo artists or projects of individual musicians under a pseudonym.

By date of last member's death
*The Jimi Hendrix Experience - November 12, 2008, following the death of drummer Mitch Mitchell. As a three-piece and with one member (Jimi Hendrix) dying young and the others in late middle age, it is one of the first major bands in the 1960s to have gained this position. An interesting piece of trivia is that all three members died in a different country from the one in which they were born. Billy Cox remains alive but was never an actual member of the group.
*Mills Brothers - November 13, 1999 following death of Donald Mills.

Nearly at this position or one member remaining
*Ramones - three members, forming the core of the band (Joey Ramone, guitarist Johnny Ramone, and bassist Dee Dee Ramone) died between 2001 and 2004. Since the drummer was always interchangable, it could be said that Ramones essentially reached the position before the Jimi Hendrix Experience, although original drummer Tommy Ramone remains alive as of 2008, along with other drummers that were in the band at various points.
*The Mamas and the Papas - Michelle Phillips is the last surviving member.
*The Coasters - Carl Gardner is the last remaining member.
*The Drifters - As of July 4, 2007 the group had no original members still living following the death of Bill Pinkney. However other members who were later part of the group are still alive.
*Four Tops - Following the death of Levi Stubbs, is the last original member still living.
