Lisa Nakamichi

Lisa Nakamichi is a Japanese pianist.
Early life
Nakamichi was born in Japan but received her musical education at the Juilliard School from she graduated with both bachelor and master degrees. Later on, she obtained a Ph.D. from the Stony Brook University where she under guidance from Martin Canin. When she finished with her studies she was awarded William Petzchek Scholarship and continued her studies with Jacob Lateiner and Felix Galimir.
Performances
She had her first performance at the Tokyo Cultural Hall which began her career. Later on she performed at the Kyushu Philharmonic and both Kyoto and Hiroshima Symphony Orchestras which was called "brilliant" by ChÅ«goku Newspaper. She also had performances with Libby Gardner Hall of University of Utah where she also taught piano lessons. Currently she performs with both the Hawaii Youth and Honolulu Symphonies of Hawaii and then became a founder of the Aloha International Piano Festival. For over ten years she have performed at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in the US capitol and during the various festivals collaborated with such musicians as Jon Nakamatsu, Sara Davis Buechner and Norman Krieger.<ref name=aloha/>
Awards and honours
She is a winner of the Young Keyboard Artists’ Association and ABC Music awards as well as Japanese-American and International Music Competitions. During the Cleveland International Piano Competition, she became a recipient of the Mozart Prize and later on was honoured at the Portland Japanese Garden in Oregon.<ref name=aloha/>
