Lisa "Sangita" Moskow is an American sarodist and composer. Many of her songs use tunings and playing techniques unusual for the sarod. Her music draws not only from the Hindustani musical tradition, but from other musical traditions including those of Japan, Europe, and the Middle East. She has studied music under Ustad Ali Akbar Khan, Ustad Zakir Hussain, and Shankar Ghosh. She also studied western music at the College of Marin in Kentfield, California. Moskow is a member of MOSAIC, a group of composers from San Francisco, and has won two awards from the ASCAP. In addition to the sarod, she also plays the tabla and gamelan, staples of traditional Indonesian music. She has toured in the United States, Mexico, and Europe. She is known to play a unique electric sarod. Moskow collaborated with ambient musician Robert Rich on the albums Yearning, Propagation, and Humidity.
