Like spinning plates

"Like Spinning Plates" is a song written by the British rock band Radiohead, featured on the 2001 album Amnesiac.
The song was first recorded after a failed attempt to record "I Will", a track released on their later album Hail to the Thief. Lead singer Yorke then played the song in reverse, from which "Like Spinning Plates" spawned. The studio-recorded Amnesiac version featured backwards singing over a pulsing electronic backdrop. The vocals on this song are also a combination of words sung backwards and then played forwards again, giving the song a spooky feel and vocals sung forwards. There are videos on "Youtube" of the two songs played together and in reverse.
The song also appears on live album I Might Be Wrong: Live Recordings, drastically altered for live performance. The live version is a haunting piano ballad accompanied by sparse bass notes and a string synth. This recording also marks the first time "Like Spinning Plates" was performed live, at Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio in August 2001.
