Liam MacDevitt

Liam Joshua MacDevitt (born 26 October 1994) is an English/Irish broadcast journalist & professional footballer who plays as a winger and striker for Stalybridge Celtic.
MacDevitt previously played for: Yeovil Town, Swindon Town, Farnborough FC , St Albans City FC, Gosport Borough, Lewes FC, Horsham FC, Greenwich Borough, Southern United FC and Tasman United.
Career
On 1 July 2012, MacDevitt signed a two-year contract with Yeovil Town. In his first year he scored twice against Oxford United in the FA Youth Cup, the game finished 4-2 to Oxford Untied. MacDevitt was named in the first team against Exeter City on 11 August 2012.
In his second year, Yeovil Town were promoted to the Championship, Yeovil then subsequently closed their academy. MacDevitt joined Swindon Town, Bristol City, Farnborough fc, Stoke City , and Livingstone F.C on youth loans. Gosport Borough F.C in the National league South scoring on his debut in a 6-3 victory against Sholing F.C.
MacDevitt then joined St. Albans City on a free transfer. Making his debut in a 1-0 loss against Ebbsfleet United.
In 2018 MacDevitt joined Southern United in the ISPS Handa Premiership. In January 2019 he was transferred to Tasman United.
On returning to the UK in 2019 MacDevitt joined Stalybridge Celtic
Athletic career
In 2015 MacDevitt won the Silver medal in the Irish under 23 indoor 400 metres, where he represented Finn Valley AC in Donegal.
In the same year MacDevitt signed a sponsorship deal with Asics UK.
Personal life
During his playing career, MacDevitt divided his time between football and studying a BA Hons in English Literature and Journalism at the University of East London.
Media & Television
In 2019 MacDevitt was employed by the BBC working on Match of the Day Kickabout. Having formally worked as a broadcast journalist at the 2018 FIFA World Cup Final and for That's TV in 2017.
