Leslie A. Lewis is a former judge who served on Utah's Third District Court who became widely known due to a YouTube viral video in autumn 2006. She was subsequently voted from the bench in the retention election held in November 2006. A Web site, firejudgelewis.com (since removed), was put up with links to the YouTube video (also since removed), urging voters to vote against her retention. On November 6, the day of the retention election, Lewis was reportedly vacationing in Italy as she was ousted by a majority 54% of the voters. Although Lewis' term was to end January 1, 2007, she requested to be put on administrative leave as of November 17, 2006, for the remainder of her term. |
