Leafing

Leafing is a game or sport in which players attempt to catch leaves before they can come into contact with the ground. The leaves must have fallen naturally from the tree and cannot have been droped by a person or ripped from the tree. The sighting of a falling leaf is usual accompanied by a call of "LEAF" to attract others attention to this event. The players will then run to where they believe the leaf will fall and attempt to grab the leaf before it can make contact with the ground, and before another player can grab it. Once a leaf has made contact with the ground it is regarded as "dead". This sport is best played around deciduous trees, during the season of autumn as there are higher numbers of leaves.
History
The activity of leafing was first observed in 2009 in Sydney, Australia. Although now slightly more reknown, leafing is still only practiced among a small group of people.
