Lawrence Muganga

Dr. Lawrence Muganga, is an Education Thought-Leader, Professor of Authentic Learning Education, international education consultant, award-winning best-selling author and international curriculum speaker based in Edmonton, Alberta Canada. Dr. Lawrence Muganga is the author of the award-winning book called “You Can’t Make Fish Climb Trees: Overcoming Educational Malpractice through Authentic Learning”. Currently, he is a professor of Authentic Learning Education at the University of the People.
Life & Career
Lawrence Muganga was born in Uganda and moved to Edmonton in 2011. Dr. Muganga earned his MA in Economic Policy Management from Makerere University and a Ph.D. in Educational Administration and Leadership from the University of Alberta, Canada. Dr. Muganga holds a Higher Education Teaching Certification from Harvard University, Derek Bok Center for Teaching and Learning. secured him a deal worth $1.3 million. secured him a deal worth $1.3 million. He is also a recipient of $1 million grant from Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for the same book. Muganga was also introduced to the Vice President of Uganda His Excellency Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi. He was also recognised by Alberta, Canada for initiating and successfully managing a crime prevention project in the Province of Alberta. He has held positions in Canada, Ethiopia, and Rwanda focused on researching, planning, developing, implementing, and assessing policies that contribute towards human capital development and improving the quality of life for populations.
