Laurie Dutcher

Laurie Dutcher is a fashion and lifestyle designer, businesswoman, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. She is best known for working with as CEO and Designer of Secretly Spoiled and President of the Board of Directors of Secretly Giving Back.
Early life and Education
Dutcher was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of Steve Dutcher and Kathleen Nielson. She was raised with her one sister and three brothers in Paola, Kansas. Dutcher moved back to Utah in 1988.
She then attended Utah State University, University of Utah, and later received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Accounting and Finance from Weber State University.
Career
Early work
After graduating from college, Dutcher worked as an Auditor for Chisholm, Bierwolf & Nilson where she participated in the preparation of Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings and analyst presentations including preparing and reviewing financial statements and footnotes, narrative disclosures, and discussion and analysis of operating results and important factors and trends impacting the company.
Fashion label
“What took you so long?” That was the question on everyone’s lips when Laurie Dutcher finally decided to launch her girls’ apparel line, Secretly Spoiled in 2008. Though the move may seem like quite a departure from her days as an accountant auditing publicly traded companies. “I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit, and I love fashion so why not combined the two. My collection has a classy, upscale look with a perfect amount comfort,” Dutcher said.
The brand name came from her prediction that despite her best intentions, she’d probably end up overindulging her daughter.
Secretly Spoiled was a hit from the beginning that she was able to add an array of collections that are distinct, unique and fashionable. Secretly Spoiled is a fashion and lifestyle brand offering unique clothing for girls, boys, and women, as well as fun and elegant home decor.
Secretly Spoiled is currently in many doors in the United States, Europe and New Zealand. The international appeal of the line is fitting, since Dutcher draws inspiration from exploration. “I just love other cultures and what they have to offer,” she said. “I see the different way people dress and always want to change it up.”
