Laudi Khela

The Laudi Khela (also Known as Laudi Nacha or Gauda Nacha) is a martial dance practiced in different parts of coastal Odisha.This is performed during Dola Purnima (Holi).The inhabitants belonging to Gauda or Gopal (Yadav) caste. In this dance the young boys of this community wear traditional clothes the same type as worn by God Krishna and each boy takes 2 sticks. They dance to a song and striking each other's sticks in a rhythmical manner. They also wear ghagudi (small bells as girdles), which produce a musical effect. Blowing of singha (buffalo's horn) and playing on flute usually accompany the dance. While dancing, they sing songs relating to Lord Krishna and his consort Radha with the movement of a bunch of peacock feathers.
