Larysa Switlyk

Larysa Switlyk is an American TV host who gained notoriety by killing wild goats in Islay, Scotland in October 2018 and posting Photos of her with the animals to Facebook. She further posed with animal carcasses. This caused an uproar in the online community resulting in her being called names such as "sickening" and "disgraceful." The Washington Post reported that "hunting is legal in the United Kingdom."
In one of the photos, Switlyk is showing off the head of a wild goat she killed after hunting it. "We hunted hard for a big one for 2 days and finally got on this group. Made a perfect 200 yard shot," is the direct quote she used, causing many to wonder if the hunting laws should be changed in Scotland. This was not the only kill she had. At least 4 other animals were killed. Another photo she took also pictured her partner who killed yet another wild goat.
Local government representatives in Scotland (UK) said: "Responsible and appropriate culling of animals is a necessary part of sustainable land management and the culling of some wild animals, including deer and goats, is not illegal.". Local Scottish government head N. Sturgeon and her secretary said: "hunting wild animals such as deer and goats is not illegal."
Switlyk issued a fashion line that claims to donate a, "percentage of the profits" to wild goat conservation. The clothes bear the mottoes “Don’t let me get your goat,” “Eat More Goat” and ’Barbaric’ Hunter. “It is beyond distasteful that @LSwitlyk is shamelessly attempting to capitalise on a pathetic stunt that may ultimately harm fieldsports in Scotland. She shows no respect for the hunting community or the beautiful creatures we are privileged to pursue," said Patrick Galbraith, editor of Shooting Times.
