Lars Konzack

Lars Konzack (born February 20, 1969) is a Danish theorist in the emerging field of game studies. He is a self-proclaimed moderate ludologist - indicating that he insists that game should be studied as games, but they might have narrative content as well.
In 1998 Lars Konzack got an MA in information science with his gold medal thesis on software genres that deals with video game genres in particular.
Lars Konzack holds a Ph.D. in Edutainment from University of Aarhus, Denmark.
He's lectured on subjects such as game criticism and game design as an assistant professor in multimedia at University of Aalborg, Denmark.
Lars Konzack introduced the term mauppie in the Danish television news (Danmarks Radio, TV-Avisen) on December 17 2008. Mauppie means middle-aged urban professional and refers to yuppies of the 1980s and 1990s that have grown older, still having the same superficial values: social status, coolness, life style. Stein Bagger and Klaus Riskær Pedersen were referred to as criminal mauppie personality types. It must be added though that far from all mauppies are criminal.
