Landesförderinstitut

Landesförderinstitut (state funding institutes) (also: promotional banks) are special banks of Germany which pass on public funds through special loan programs.
In particular, they work in the following areas:
# Securing and improving the structure of small and medium-sized enterprises, in particular through business start-up financing,
# State social housing promotion,
# Provision of risk capital,
# Structural development of cities and municipalities,
# Infrastructure,
# Measures in agriculture, forestry and rural areas,
# Environmental protection measures,
# Technology / Innovation measures
# Measures of a purely social nature,
# Measures of a cultural and scientific nature.
Organization of the funding institutes
At the federal level, the Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) and the Landwirtschaftliche Rentenbank act as national promotional banks.
At state level, there are the following funding institutes:
* Baden-Württemberg: Landeskreditbank Baden-Württemberg - Förderbank (L-Bank)
* Bayern: LfA Förderbank Bayern
* Berlin: Investitionsbank Berlin (IBB)
* Brandenburg: Investitionsbank des Landes Brandenburg (ILB)
* Bremen: Bremer Aufbau-Bank GmbH (BAB)
* Hamburg: Hamburgische Investitions- und Förderbank
* Hessen: Wirtschafts- und Infrastrukturbank Hessen (WIBank)
* Mecklenburg-Vorpommern: Landesförderinstitut Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
* Niedersachsen: Investitions- und Förderbank Niedersachsen (NBank)
* Nordrhein-Westfalen: NRW.Bank
* Rheinland-Pfalz: Investitions- und Strukturbank Rheinland-Pfalz (ISB)
* Saarland: Saarländische Investitionskreditbank AG
* Sachsen: Sächsische Aufbaubank
* Sachsen-Anhalt: Investitionsbank Sachsen-Anhalt
* Schleswig-Holstein: Investitionsbank Schleswig-Holstein
