Lana and Clark are a fictional couple on the Television series Smallville. For the past seven seasons Lana and Clark have had their their compications in their relationsh[p. Lana Lang is portrayed by Kristen Kreuk and Clark Kent is portrayed by Tom Welling. They are one of the most seperated couples on Television. Clark Kent is a Kansas farmer who comes from a planet called Krypton and was raised by his adoptive parents Jonathan Kent and Martha Kent. Clark posseses super human powers such as strength, speed, x-ray vision, heat vision, super hearing, super breath, etc. Clark is destined to become Superman. Lana Lang is an orphan girl raised by her Aunt Nel, Lana has spent her whole life in Smallville. Lana and Clark were next door neighbours before Lana moved. Clark is destined to live without Lana he just dosen't know it yet.

Smallville
Smallville is an American television show that debuted on the WB in 2001. Smallville is based on the trails and retributions of a young Clark Kent (Superman). The show focouses on Clark's love for Lana Lang, his highschool sweetheart, his developing powers and how he learns to harness them and his refusual to accept his destiny. Season 1 focoused on a freak/villan of the week concept, While season 2 and 3 involved Clark digging deaper into his past, learing about his origins and refusing his destiny. Season 4 involved a quest for 3 legendary crystals and season 5 involved the release of General Zod Superman's greatest enemy. Season 6 focoused on the release of beings from the Phantom Zone and Lex Luthor building a super army. Season 7 recently premiered with the introduction of Clark's kryptonian cousin Kara Zor-EL (Supergirl) who Clark has to watch over. Many DC comic legends have appeared in Smallville such as Aquaman, Cyborg, Green Arrow, The Flash and Martian Manhunter. People from the Superman movies and Comics have also joined the cast of Smallville such as Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen. Smallville recently began its seventh season.

Season 1:
In Smallville season 1 of Smallville Lana Lang did not really know who Clark Kent was even though Clark was madly in love with her. Lana Lang had a boyfriend which made it very complicated for Clark to start a relationship with her. Throughout season 1 Clark developed a routine of saving Lana's life and a friendship blossomed. Towards the end of season 1 Lana started to develop feelings for Clark though kept them to herself. In the episode (Crush) it appeared Lana was going to dump her boyfriend Whitney for Clark though Whitney's troubles in his personal life made her stay with him.

Season 2:
In Smallville season 2 Clark and Lana's relationship was set to become official when Red Kryptonite got in the way. Red Kryptonite made Clark's emotions take control of him and he ruined his chances with Lana twice in the episode (Red) and the episode (Rush). Several times through the season they looked ready to start a relationship though Lana was to hurt from her previous experience with Clark. At the end of the season Clark and Lana finally became a couple though Clark was overwhelmed with grief over causing his Mother's accident that he slipped on red kryptonite and left Lana behind.

Season 3:
In Smallville season 3 Clark returns to Smallville and even though he loves Lana he realises he can't have a relationship with her and tells her he is not good enough for her. Even though their is bitterness and jealousy on both parts, they manage to keep a stable friendship. Clark becomes Jealous when Lana grows fond of Adam Knight who Clark in the end saves Lana from. When Clark is temporarily blind he trys to rekindle a relationship with Lana though she doesn't want to take advantage of him. Clark temporarily dates Alicia Baker who grows an obsession for him and trys to kill Lana so Clark stops her. At the end of the season Clark realises the only way to stop Lana leaving for Paris is to tell her his secret. Clark's bestfriend Pete Ross tells Clark how hard it is keeping his secret so Clark doesn't tell Lana and she leaves.

Season 4:
In Smallville season 4 Lana returns to Smallville with a new boyfriend Jason Teauge. She seems happy and manages to keep a stable friendship with Clark. Clark redates Alicia Baker who is killed and Clark is devistated. Towards the end of the season Lana's relationship starts to break apart and her and Clark grow closer. For example in the episode (Spirit) Clark says to Lana "May I have this dance" and Lana replys "I though you'd never ask" as the two dance. In the episode (Blank) Clark grabs Lana's hand and says "This time will be different. They travel to Shanghai together in the episode (Sacred) and they care for an infant together in the episode (Ageless). In the season finale Clark and Lana profess their love for one another.

Season 5:
In Smallville season 5 Clark and Lana begin a relationship and they lose their virginity. Their relationship is perfect when Clark is mortal though when Jor-EL returns Clark's powers their relationship begins to crumble. Clark sensing the end is near tells Lana his secret and asks her to marry him in the episode (Reckoning). She accepts and everything is perfect before she dies. Clark turns back time and decides not to tell her his secret and over time they break up and all that is left is bitterness. Lana begins to date Lex Luthor and Lex and Clark become Mortal enimies. In the season final Lana says to Clark "I can't believe I ever loved you."

Season 6:
In Smallville season 6 Lana and Clark are so in love but face so many obstacles that they can't be together. Clark decides to go for it when he finds out Lana is pregnant to Lex Luthor and doesn't want to get in the way of the baby's future. Clark discovers Lana and Lex are engaged, and he doesn't want her to marry Lex so badly that he kidnaps Lana while on Red Kryptonite. Lana is going to leave Lex for Clark when Lionel Luthor threatens to Kill Clark if Lana doesn't marry Lex. Lana marrys Lex and Clark is devistated as he thought him and Lana were going to be together. Lana is also distraught that she married Lex though knows she is protecting Clark. Lana and Clark remain in love and Lana discovers she was never pregnant and that Lex manipulated the whole thing. In the season Final Lana leaves Lex and Clark tells her his secret before they kiss and Lana fakes her own death for protection from Lex.

Season 7:
In Smallville season 7 Lana is able to return to Smallville and have a relationship with Clark as she now knows about his alien origins. Lana makes the Kent farm her permanent residence. Lana has been changed after marrying Lex and is keeping many secrets from Clark including that she held Lionel Luthor hostage.
