Laique Rehman is a American businessman, he moved to New York as a teenager after receiving his GCE A Level Certificate from University of Cambridge. He received his Bachelors Degree from Syracuse University, New York and studied in the MBA program at George Washington University. His businesses are engaged in moving commodity energy products globally. As a staunch believer in the American Constitution he was one of the plaintiffs in the motion heard by the United States Supreme Court against Census Bureau declaring that the census questionnaire was unconstitutional. The case argued that the questions asked for in the questionnaire violated the constitutional rights of the Americans and data gathered could some day be used for other less desirable purpose. In his speech at the 2010 European Petrochemical Conference in Amsterdam he stated that US still has competetively priced Natural Gas, we have the technology and the freight advantage from West Coast of NAFTA countries to remain a world leader in Petrochemical Industry. He also stated it took us in US over 200 years to come up with laws and regulation that provide a check and balance for Environment, Competition, Equal Opportunity etc. whereas in emerging economies the motto is "growth at any cost."
