Lady Phoenix

Lady Phoenix is an American pop girl group. The band formed in 2008 after Melissa Schuman and Ashley Poole wanted to form a new group. The group consisted of former Dream members Melissa Schuman, Ashley Poole and Diana Ortiz. The group's single and album is expected to hit pop radio and stores in 2011. On November 11, 2010, Ashley Poole announced that she was leaving Lady Phoenix and the group would continue on without her.
History
Formation
On January 28, 2008, Schuman reported that she would be forming a new music group with former Dream bandmate Ashley Poole, and that they would be auditioning potential new members and starring in a reality show to detail the new group's formation. On February 2, 2008, Schuman reported on her forum that Diana Ortiz (also formerly of the girl group Dream) had joined, indicating that the group was now complete. On July 27, 2008, Schuman announced on her website that the new group's name would be "Lady Phoenix". Currently the band is recording the debut album unsigned, but they have been 'rumored' to have met with many major record labels and are signed with new management.
2008-Present: Recording, Reality Show and Departure of Ashley Poole
In 2008, Lady Phoenix began recording their debut album and is due for a 2010 release date as well as the group's debut single. The band is also filming a reality TV show due for a 2010 release, and the show is awaiting to be picked up by a network. Schuman announced via Twitter that the group will be able to announce the network once deals have been finalized. They are currently signed to Maple Jam Music Group (MJMG) as their management. On November 11, 2010, it was announced that Ashley Poole was leaving Lady Phoenix and that the group would go on without her with Melissa Schuman and Diana Ortiz. On March 28, 2011 it was confirmed by Schuman that Lady Phoenix is on hiatus.
