Lekeisha Allen AKA Lady-K Da Prophetess is an independent artist with a career based out of the city of Saginaw Michigan. Since 1995, the artist known as Lady-K has maintained a consistent underground buzz on the local Saginaw SETV channel 11 TV station. While establishing her credibility with her unique vocals, writing and content, and the ability to create original hip-hop and R&B music for herself and other upcoming artists in her community. In 2005, while earning her Bachelor's of Arts degree at Central Michigan University, she developed an independent music company entitled Godstar Entertainment Incorporated. Through this company, Lady-K has utilized all her musical talents giving her and her company a well-respected reputation throughout the state of Michigan. While still an artist in the underground hip-hop and R& B scene, Lady-K has accomplished a variety of musical achievements. For example, she has also performed in numerous showcases, semi-Apollo's, and special events. Along with her broad performance experience, Lady-K has an exceptional discography and recording history which consists of a long list of self-produced tracks and cameos with many local hip-hop and R&B artists. Most recently, Lady-K has written songs for Capitol/ShoNuff Records recording artist Tone Tone releasing which has been highly recognized throughout the Midwest. In March 2012, Lady-K performed in the Indy Star Network competition, "Can I Rock The Mic" hosted by DJ Wrekk1. Later that year, she was spotlighted by Hype Magazine of Indianapolis, as one of the newest upcoming talent. Some of Lady-K musical influences expand throughout all musical genres including Rock, Jazz, and Gospel music. Lady-K primary musical inspirations come from artists such as 2Pac, Notorious B.I.G., and Stevie Wonder, Lauryn Hill, Beyonce, Anita Baker. Lady-K states, "Though there are many great musical inspirations that I have developed my artistry from, my greatest inspirations are God and my mother." She aspires to establish herself with a credible and respected mainstream record label and possibly obtain a distribution opportunity for Godstar Entertainment. Most importantly, Lady-K desires to become a well-respected artist with a successful career in the music industry while motivating other urban youth to fulfill their own creative passions.
