Laceco

LACECO Architects and Engineers was founded in 1988 in Beirut, Lebanon under the name LACECO (Lebanese Arab Contracting and Engineering Company). It is a mutidisciplinary engineering consulting firm invovled in the planning and studies of architecture and construction projects. The company has grown to become one of the leading offices in the region.
Overview
The company covers the following fields.
• Architectural & Engineering Design
• Urban Planning, Urban Design & Landscape, Roads & Infrastructure Design
• Design Management, Supervision & Construction Management
The company was intitiated when its principals decided to take part in the oil and construction boom of the MENA region. The Board saw a gap that could be filled by a newly established engineering firm.
The firm currently has offices in Beirut and Amman and plans to expand its branches even further in the region.
Projects
Some of the Projects the company has covered include:
• Cap Juby residential project in Morroco
• Saraya Aqaba resort in Amman, Jordan
• Amman Central Business District in Amman, Jordan
Among other projects in Lebanon, the Gulf Region and the Arab region as a whole.
Awards and Nominations
• LACECO Architects and Engineers has won the first prize in the residential category at the 2008 City Scape Competition in Abu Dhabi for its Cap Juby Project.
• Dr. Bilal Alayli, Director of Operations in the Company, has been elected President of the Order of Architects and Engineers in Lebanon for the 2008-2010 term.
