Lace International Ltd is a software company specializing in entertainment, based in Hailsham, United Kingdom. Subsidiaries include Lace DVD, Lace Digital Media Sales, 101 Films, and the video game publishing venture formerly known as Lace Mamba Global. It is primarily a video and DVD publisher, although as of 2010 it has been involved with video game publishing as well. While active as of 2016, many previously provided website addresses are broken links, and the company's social media pages on Twitter and Facebook no longer exist. The company's most recently published game was Between Me and The Night, released on 22 January 2016 from the indie developer RainDance. Background Founded in 2001 under the name Lace Estates Ltd, the company began as a producer of sound recordings (digital and DVD) and a music publisher, primarily run by Adam Stuart Lacey (the company director). In 2002 it was renamed Lace International Ltd. Subsidiaries specializing in music, film, and other audiovisual entertainment were formed over the next 10 years. In addition to publishing and services provided by its subsidiaries, Lace International has also released desktop publishing software. Lace Digital Media Sales Lace Digital Media Sales (LDMS) was established in 2003 as a publisher and distributor of audiovisual content, primarily throughout the United Kingdom and Eire. Adam Lacey is listed as the Director for LDMS. 101 Films Limited Added as a subsidiary in 2011, 101 Films Limited specializes in "video distribution activities", under the co-directorship of Adam Lacey and Martin Andrew Lyon. As of 1 October 2015, the subsidiary reported total net asset value of £124,919 (up £110,555 from the previous year). In accordance with the Companies Act of 2006, 101 Films was entitled to an exemption from audit, limiting financial information after the year 2014. Lace Live Events Limited Launched in 2007 as a partnership between Adam Stuart Lacey and Miranda Graham (former Events Director of International Strategic Forums Ltd. and Conference Line), Lace Live Events was an events management agency, meaning it offered services for events such as business seminars, awards ceremonies, and incentive trips. It is listed on multiple websites as dissolved. Partnership with Mamba Games In 2010, Lace International and Mamba Games established a joint venture under the name Lace Mamba Global, a publisher and distributor of video games for independent game developers. Controversy arose in 2013 when several indie game studios (viz., Amanita Design, Daedalic Entertainment, and Colibri Games) began coming forward with allegations that contracts had been breached. According to these developers, their contracts provided permission to publish and distribute their games in limited territories, but Lace Mamba Global was overseeing distribution outside of these locations. Additional allegations stated that the monetary compensation for such distribution was only part of what had been agreed upon. Lace International settled with each of these claimants individually, telling news sources that these alleged infractions were without the parent company's knowledge. Jason Codd, whom Lace International stated was responsible for the contracts with each developer, was terminated from his directorship with Lace Mamba Global. In 2014, Lace International acquired all rights and ownership of Lace Mamba Global. References to Mamba Games were removed from the name, the subsidiary being re-branded as simply Lace Games. Financial As of 2013, the company's net worth was reported to be £179,312, up 7.07% from the previous year, with total liabilities of £5,525,719 and assets totaling £5,836,857. However, as of 5 June 2015 the Lace Group (owners of Lace International) entered into voluntary liquidation for this company as well as Lace Estates Ltd and Lace Holdings Ltd, meaning the company is likely to completely dissolve.
