La Quinta Middle School

La Quinta Charter Middle School (LQMS) is a middle school (grades 6 to 8) in La Quinta, California in the Desert Sands Unified School District. The school first opened in the Fall of 1988 in a temporary site North of the current campus. Its present site finished construction in the summer of 1990, in time for its opening in the Fall of 1990. It was named a California Distinguished School in 1994.
According to the official web site statement, La Quinta Middle School is an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP)* school, LQMS practices the tenets of the IB philosophy and pedagogy, which is evident in the teachers' instruction.
Its feeder schools are John Adams, Harry Truman and Benjamin Franklin Elementary Schools within a mile from LQMS, all schools are in one of California's fastest growing cities.
