Krav Maga Worldwide, Inc. was created in 1999 to help spread Krav Maga training across the United States and around the globe. Darren Levine, 6th degree black belt and recipient of a Founder’s Diploma from Krav Maga creator Imi Lichtenfeld, founded the company. The company certifies instructors and oversees quality control at hundreds of authorized Krav Maga Worldwide training centers in the United States, Canada, Japan, Mexico, and Europe.
Krav Maga Worldwide is currently the largest reality based self-defense organization in the world with over 240 licensed schools, over 500 law enforcement and government agencies and multiple specialized military units trained.
Company-owned training centers Krav Maga Worldwide’s original company-owned training center is located in West Los Angeles, California and offers classes in Krav Maga Self-Defense, Fighting, Fitness/KM Conditioning, KM-X Kids classes and Instructor Certifications. According to MA Success magazine (January 2003), the school has approximately 2,000 members. Krav Maga Worldwide opened its second facility in Sherman Oaks, California in 2006.
In a May 4th 1998 TIME Magazine interview with Darren Levine at Krav Maga Worldwide's original training center in West Los Angeles TIME Magazine called the training "A brutal but effective self-defense system created by the Israeli Military is the latest urban-fitness fad".
Krav Maga Worldwide currently licenses over 240 locations worldwide in The United States, Japan, Canada, Europe, Israel, Puerto Rico, Caribbean Islands and the Middle East.
Krav Maga Worldwide has prepared operators from the United States Army, the United States Navy, the United States Air Force, the United States Marine Corps and the United States Coast Guard for work in hostile environments. Krav Maga Worldwide Force Training Division has been recognized by the United States Military for exceptional service, professionalism, performance and commitment to mission accomplishment. Krav Maga Worldwide Force Training Instructors are the official trainers for a number of elite units and have directly contributed to the mobilization and deployment of personnel in support of operations in Afghanistan, Iraq, Kosovo-Bosnia, Kuwait and the Sinai.
