Korova bar Terroir is a bar and music venue located at 3908 Saint-Laurent Boulevard (The Main) in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Korova was initially owned by a French-Canadian businessman and historical battle enthusiast named Jose. Jose was eventually bought out by a team of entrepreneurs that included film-producer and Jonathan Webb (Who Is KK Downey?), Murad Meshgini and Nicolas J. Robinson, the first two of which are also owners of Blizzarts, another bar on Saint Laurent Boulevard. Nicolas J. Robinson was a long-time bartender and one-time member of post-hardcore group Mishima, named after the author Yukio Mishima. Since that time, the bar has gone through a number of decorating changes, focusing on a retro romper-room feel that includes framed vintage liquor ads, taxidermy, and classic table-top video-games like Tetris and Asteroids. As well as being an indie dance-bar, Korova has gained recognition as being a hang-out and hub for the local Montreal indie rock scene, receiving mention in Spin Magazine, Nylon and other international youth-oriented publications by bands like Wolf Parade. It also features prominently in the Pop Montreal as a venue and meeting place. Every week-night features a musical theme, from vintage 80s R&B and disco to a soul night to hip hop to disco and dance-able pop music.
