Konstantin Monastyrsky is a European-educated pharmacist, a former computer programmer and software entrepreneur, and a Russian American medical writer, lecturer, and radio talk show host, and the author of four books about health and nutrition. Monastyrsky was born in Ukraine (former USSR) in 1954, and attended Lviv's State Medical University. He graduated in January 1977 with a degree in pharmacy. Between 1991 and 1998, he was the president of Okna.com ("Windows" in Russian), and Reversing Metabolic Syndrome: How Carbohydrates Ruin Your Health and Wealth, and What You Can Do To Reverse the Onslaught of Metabolic Syndrome. Monastyrsky released his first English language book, entitled Fiber Menace: the Truth About the Leading Role of Fiber in Diet Failure, Constipation, Hemorrhoids, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn's Disease and Colon Cancer in 2005.
