KOI 701.03 is the Kepler Object of Interest number for an exoplanet candidate detected by the Kepler Space Telescope. It was among 54 potentially habitable exoplanet candidates announced on 1 February 2011. It is notable as the most Earth like of the exoplanet canidates announced on 1 February 2011. KOI 701.03 has a black-body equilibrium temperature of 262K which is only 7K warmer than Earth's 255K value. (The Earth recieves an addtional 33K of warming from the greenhouse effect of our atmosphere making our average global temperature 288K 15C 59F.) KOI 701.03 has a mass 1.73 × Earth's mass. The other exoplanet candidates announced on 1 February 2011 are either significantly larger than earth or have equilibrium temperatures that are further away from Earth's 255K value.
