Knowledgeroot is a knowledgebase system. You have a tree to structure your content and your files. You can edit your content with your choice of two great WYSIWYG editors, tinymce or fckeditor. Both editors allow you to upload or link to images to include in your content. You can make all content public in knowledgeroot or you can set rights to each tree element or content. So you can decide how to use knowledgeroot, like an open wiki software or a closed system. Used as a closed system, the rights management feature can be used to provide a multi-user publishing model. You need a Apache HTTP Server. Not tested with Internet Information Server! You also need PHP 4.1.x or bigger. Better is PHP 4.3.x or PHP 5. Knowledgeroot use mysql or postgresql as database. For mysql you should use a version bigger 4.x.x and for postgresql you should use a version bigger 7.4.x. To use the tinymce editor in knowledgeroot you need the following browser: IE, Mozilla based browsers or Opera. For FCKEditor you need IE or a Mozilla based browser. To use the ajax tree in knowledgeroot you need IE or a Mozilla based browser. Opera and Konqueror get errors with the ajax tree. They are forced to use the static menu! Some Linux has prebuilt knowledgeroot package like Debian, Ubuntu etc.
