Kim Duthie

Kim Duthie is best known as the "St Kilda schoolgirl" at the centre of a multi-layered intrigue involving a group of Australian Rules footballers and some of their business associates, in particular player agent Ricky Nixon.

Duthie, feeling excluded (again by her own report), then approached the St Kilda Football Club seeking support for an alleged pregnancy to Gilbert, a pregnancy she publicly proclaimed for several months but later admitted was a lie concocted by her.
Contact with Ricky Nixon
At this time, she became estranged from her parents, and began to court attention via the press, as well as via newer media like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and blogging. Through negotiations with players, St Kilda Football Club and the AFL over the release of the player photographs, she came into contact with Ricky Nixon, and began a flirtation with him, largely by text message, that culminated in Nixon spending time alone with Duthie in her hotel room in Melbourne. Subsequently, Duthie went to the press claiming to have had sex with and taken cocaine with Nixon. She produced as evidence video taken on her smartphone, clearly showing Nixon's name on personal ID, and also a man, purportedly Nixon, in his underwear on her bed. Nixon publicly denied the sex and cocaine claims, but did admit to "inappropriate" dealings with Duthie, including being present in her hotel room.
Following Nixon's admissions, he was stripped of his right to manage or represent AFL players, which also resulted in him having to sever himself from his thriving management business. However, most of his player clients publicly suspended judgement on the more serious charges Nixon had denied. On May 5, 2011, the press disclosed a confidential report on the connection between Duthie and Nixon. The report, prepared for the AFL Players Association by distinguished barrister David Galbally was widely regarded as authoritative. It presented the view Nixon had in fact shared both sex and cocaine with Duthie, as she had asserted.
