The Kilrathi Heavy Destroyer was a fictional capital starship in the Wing Commander universe. The first appearance of these destroyers was in the computer game Wing Commander III: Heart of the Tiger and served under the Kilrathi Empire. About In the fictional Wing Commander universe, the Kilrathi sought to replace the aging Ralatha-class Destroyers , bringing forth the Kilrathi's newest Heavy Destroyer class to the Kilrathi fleet. These destroyers were spotted several times in the computer game Wing Commander III. The new Kilrathi heavy destroyers entered service right before the Battle of Earth in 2668. The Kilrathi Heavy Destroyer was nothing special for it's time. It's heavy weapon loadout and shields insured it's survivability in a fight. Most Kilrathi carrier task forces had at least one or two of these destroyers in their group. After the end of the Kilrathi War in 2669, any remaining Kilrathi heavy destroyers would be refitted for peace times and would continue service for the Kilrathi. The Kilrathi heavy destroyers were constructed to match the Confederation Frigates. Measuring at about five hundred and thirty meters long and weighing about nineteen thousand metric tonnes, the Kilrathi's destroyers were a bit larger than the Confederation's frigates and Sheffiled-class destroyers. They were also much larger than any of the Kilrathi's older destroyers, although not as fast. These heavy destroyers were equipped with ten heavy laser turret cannons and three tachyon cannons, make them a formidable foe against Confederation capital chips. See Also
