At approximately 15:30 on 30 July 2024, a helicopter crashed between Killucan and Raharney near the R156 road in County Westmeath, Ireland. Two men died when a Bell 505 Jet Ranger X helicopter, with registration N57NC, crashed into a farm building. Local residents described seeing the aircraft "plummeting suddenly" and said that it had crashed at a piggery near the local Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club. Gardaí confirmed that two men in their 40s had died.
