Khuzh

Khuzh (, regular plural , ) is a term in Armenian historiography with the meaning of someone who is not Armenian.
Etymology
The term comes from the name of Khuzestan Province () which is the provinces on South West of Iran.<ref name="Ghazaryan" /> Initially, the term had a narrow meaning applied only in relation to the inhabitants of the Khuzestan Province. Later, due to the deepening of mutual contacts, it acquired the meaning of «barbarian», «savage» in the Armenian language. Finally, the word was fixed in relation to representatives of all other nations in the meaning of «non-Armenians».<ref name="Ghazaryan" />
