Keyla is an anthropomorphic otter who is one of the main characters from the Redwall book by Brian Jacques.
Keyla was inprisoned by Badrang the Tyrant when he was young. He, along with many other slaves in Marshank, Badrang's fort, witnessed many beatings and killings. He always hated Badrang, though not to the extent of Felldoh or . In the book, he outwitted Badrang's soldiers many a time, including the time he and Brome pretended to be one of the horde. He also convinced the guards of Marshank to put him and the other slaves in the prison pit, which he and other slaves escaped from by getting out from the pit by a tunnel Grumm the mole dug for Felldoh, Martin, and Brome to escape through. When serving with the Fur and Freedom Fighters, he was one of the leaders and taught many soldiers the ways of war. Keyla also joked several times, and is known for using his joking and fibbing to get out of tight spots, along with his temper. He is also known for using is voice to help others, like the time he sung over the wall of Marshank to Rose and Grumm to tell them where the prison pit was.
