A term commmonly known to road motorcycle riders in the Sydney area of New South Wales, Australia. This term refers to an unusual tyre wear pattern, which occurs normally on the rear tyre of a road motorcycle, but in some extreme cases has also been noted on the front tyre. This wear pattern is the result of a unique riding style which, requires the bare minimum of lean angle is used in normal day-to-day motorcycle riding. The end result is a tyre which has a Flat spot across the top of the tyre. In some cases, a Kevined tyre will allow the motorcyclist to no longer require the use of the side-stand for parking. Not generally recommended for safety purposes, once a tyre has been Kevined, it should be replaced as soon as practicle. An example of common usage; "Pete sure has kevined his rear tyre".
