Kevin Shmyr

Kevin Shmyr, born January 28, 1983 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan is a Canadian ice hockey defenceman for the Drake Canucks of the Long Lake Hockey League (LLHL). He formerly played for the Melfort Mustangs Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL). Prior to the SJHL, Shmyr played for the Saskatoon Contacts of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League(SMAAAHL) and the Saskatoon Raiders of the Saskatoon Minor Hockey Association(SMHA). Shmyr's role as a leader has arguably made him one of the greatest captains in the league. Kevin's life off of the ice has led him down the road to becoming a Industrial Arts teacher at the University of Saskatchewan. He also is currently an official and linesman in both the SMAAAHL and the SJHL.
SJHL statistics
While playing for the Melfort Mustangs in the 2002-2003 season, Shmyr played in 58 games with two goals and nine assists for a total point score of 11 and received 82 penalty minutes. While Shmyr played in the 2003-2004 season, he achieved in 60 games, three goals, five assists for a total of eight points and he received 88 penalty minutes.
