Kevin Bonavia

Kevin Bonavia (born August 9, 1977) British politician. He is Parliamentary candidate for Rochford and Southend East in the next general election.
Bonavia was born in Malta to a Maltese father, John and a Scottish mother, Yvonne. His family moved to London when he was 8 years old. He attended school at Eltham College in southeast London and went on to receive a degree in history from the University of Birmingham. Thereafter, he earned a post graduate diploma in law at the College of Law in London. He currently works as a solicitor with the firm of Byrne and Partners, specialising in civil fraud litigation.
He joined the Labour Party at age 19. In 2004 he was named chair of the Young Fabians, where he oversaw the implementation of the Young Fabians Schools Project. He is still a member of the Fabian Society, and is also a member of the Society of Labour Lawyers, Unite trade union (Amicus section) and the Co-operative Party.
He was selected as the Labour Party's Parliamentary Candidate for the Rochford and Southend East constituency in June of 2007, and will stand against current Conservative MP James Duddridge in the next general election.
