The Kent Assembly is a proposed devolved regional assembly for Kent in the United Kingdom along the lines of the National Assembly for Wales and Northern Ireland Assembly. Background There is a growing call within Kent as across much of the UK for greater self-rule to make government more responsive to the wishes of the people. Many residents advocate the creation of a Kent Assembly, and/or a separate Kent Development Agency, would provide greater accountability a result of discontent with the South East Regional Development Agency.
