The Kensal Belgian Society (KBS) is a popular organisation situated in Kensal Green / Rise - West London dedicated to the celebration of Belgian culture, food and drink.
Its founding members are all linked to Belgium in someway (with the exception of a member of German heritage) but accepts non-Belgians as members.
It promotes social events throughout the year with the highlight being the KBS Notting Hill Carnival Party which takes place at the KBS Headquarters (situated on the edge of the Notting Hill Carnival).
The Kensal Belgian Society also promotes reptilian and amphibian husbandry with many current and former animal members including the late George Smallwood (a Chameleon), Elizabeth Cox (Bearded Dragon) , Eddie and Isabelle Lizzard (Leopard Geckos) , Cosmo & Dibs (Fire Salamanders) and Audrey Hepburn (Royal Python).
It also has associated arms of the organisation including the Jordanian Kensal Belgian Society and the very popular Japanese Kensal Belgian Society.
