Keiron Anderson

Keiron Anderson is a British conductor, musical director and educator. He was born in Aberdeen, Scotland, and attended the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, where he studied trumpet and keyboard.<ref name="KAProfile"/> Whilst studying there he began a 'light orchestra' and a big band. He is described by himself and others as "one of the most experienced and innovative conductors of wind groups in the country".<ref name="KAProfile" />
Ensembles
Anderson became chief conductor of the Yorkshire Wind Orchestra in 1994 when he took over from Frank Renton<ref name="KAProfile" /><ref name="YWAbout" group="ensemble" /> He is also a musical director of Harlequin Brass Ensemble<ref name="HBKA" group="ensemble" /> and more recently, of Phoenix Concert Band.<ref name="KAProfile" /><ref name="PBConductor" group="ensemble" /> He has also guest-conducted<ref name="SaxConductors" group="ensemble" /> one of his own compositions with the National Saxophone Choir at the Edinburgh Festival.<ref name="KAProfile" /> Since 2006, Keiron has been Musical Director and Conductor of the award winning Nottingham Symphonic Wind Orchestra.
Teaching
He currently works at Ilkley Grammar School where he teaches music<ref name="IGSMusic" /> as head of the department.<ref name="IGSCreative" /> He first began working at Ilkley Middle School and joined Ilkley Grammar School when the two schools joined. Anderson enjoys teaching music and says all his efforts teaching, whether with his students or his ensembles, are to bring the emotion of the music to life for the audience. no matter what else we do, we must get to the emotional content of the music and bring it to life for the audience<ref name="KAProfile"/>
