KC Nwakalor (born Kelechukwu Nwakalor in Enugu) is a UK-based Nigerian photojournalist and documentary photographer. He is the cofounder of No! Wahala photography magazine. His works highlights socio-economic and environmental precarity and resilience particularly as it pertains to Africa and its diaspora. Nwakalor’s works have been widely published in renowned media platforms such as The New York Times, Le Monde, The Washington Post, Time Magazine, Bloomberg Businessweek, The Financial Times, Global Citizen, Rest of World, African Arguments, and NPR, among others. Education Nwakalor holds a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Abuja, and a certificate in photojournalism from the New York Institute of Photography. Works and recognition In 2022, the International Rescue Committee's UK Aid Match Protecting Milestones campaign recognised Nwakalor as one of two photographers projecting stories of resilience from northeast Nigeria through their works. Nwakalor is a recipient of the Adobe Creative Residence Community Fund and has been nominated for the World Press Photo 6x6 Global Talent. His works have been exhibited or featured at the Gagosian, Victoria and Albert Museum, Royal Photographic Society, and World Press Photo. Nwakalor is a member of Diversify Photo, the Frontline Freelance Register, and the African Photojournalism Database.
