Alex Chamberlin

Alex Chamberlin (born 1972 in London, South West London) is a professional artist.
Chamberlin went to Harrow School in North East London. He studied Fine Art at Newcastle University. He then spent three years training as an officer in the Light Dragoons army regiment, before leaving in 1998 to concentrate on his painting career.
Awards and recognition
Chamberlin has been awarded some accolades for his artwork as well as being recognised for his work. Below is a list of the awards and recognitions he has achieved:
*1998 - First Prize in The Royal Institute of Oil Painters.
*2000 - Featured in the Wallpaper Magazine. He was also short-listed for the Villiers David Prize.
*2001 - The artist in teaching award. Awarded in Seville, Spain, in August 2001. Painting sold in Christies Auction, New York.
*2003 - Best Painting prize in the annual Chelsea Art Society competition. Painting sold at Lighthouse Auction, Christies, London. Elected to the 'Art Happens' committee, which is part of the Art Fund.
