Kayadu

Kadayu is the mother of the great devotee Prahlada.
When Hiranyakashipu went to a forest to perform penance for obtaining power from Brahma deva. While he was doing so, the army of the devas came to the land of the Asuras and Kadayu was a captive amongst those captured.
The Vaishnava sage Narada seeing that this woman was moaning, got her released from Indra deva's hold. Kadayu then lived with Narada at his ashrama and worshiped him. As Narada noticed that Kadayu was pregnant with Hiranyakashipu's offspring, he taught the child Vedas, moral duty and spiritual philosophy while he (Prahlada) was still in Kadayu's womb.
She later gave birth to Samhlada, Anuhlada, Shibi, and Baskala.
