Katy Katopodis

Katerina "Katy" Katopodis (born May 21, 1975), is a South African journalist and news anchor. She is the Group Editor-in-Chief of Eyewitness News for Primedia Broadcasting (PMB).
Career
Katopodis studied at Saheti School and Wits University, graduating in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in English, International Relations and Greek. She began work at Primedia in 1996, was appointed as Group Editor-in-Chief of Eyewitness News in 2008 and is also a senior member of management within the group.
Katopodis supported the decision by South African television to broadcast part of the trial of Oscar Pistorius. In 2016, she was appointed to the board of the South African National Editors Forum (SANEF) She welcomed the re-instatement of seven South African Broadcasting Corporation journalists, who were sacked after they publicly criticised the corporation's decision not to show violent protests on television, saying "it really was the right and only thing to do under these circumstances".
