Katrin Owusu is a British marketer and the founder of Ctrl.Alt.Shift, a UK-based experimental initiative which aims to politicise a new generation of activists for social justice. She is credited with introducing a radical new approach to Third Sector marketing, and has spoken regularly about engaging and recruiting donors. Having previously worked on marketing for both Sony Music and PlayStation Portable, Owusu decided to apply her knowledge of digital media and marketing to charity. Working with Christian Aid, she found that 85% of young people wanted to help but didn't know how. She launched Ctrl.Alt.Shift in 2008. Under her stewardship it has gathered over 40,000 subscribers and she was praised by The Sunday Times for "reaching out to a totally different crowd — those between 18 and 25, who are generally uninterested in politics and current affairs." Owusu has been the driving force behind a series of Ctrl.Alt.Shift cultural projects, including film, dance and comic books.
