Karrin Taylor Robson is an American business executive and land developer. She stepped down from her role on the Arizona Board of Regents in early 2021. On May 17, 2021, Taylor Robson declared her candidacy for the 2022 Arizona gubernatorial election as a member of the Republican Party. Early life and education Taylor Robson was born in Arizona and grew up as a member of the Kunasek family. Her father, Carl Kunasek, was president of the Arizona Senate and a member of the Corporation Commission, while her brother, Andrew Cunasek, was a member of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors. In 1988, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Arizona State University. Taylor Robson earned a Juris Doctor degree from Arizona State University in 1994. Taylor Robson then served as executive vice president of community developer DMB Associates Inc, based in Scottsdale, Arizona. In this role, Taylor Robson was responsible for ongoing land use entitlement matters. In 2018, Taylor Robson was rumored as a potential replacement to fill the empty Arizona Senate seat left in the wake of the death of John McCain. 2022 gubernatorial run On May 17, 2021, Robson filed a campaign committee with the Secretary of State's Office, officially launching her Republican bid for governor of Arizona in the 2022 election.
