Karen Pamintuan

Karen Treshler Pamintuan was born in Manila and is a 22-year old TV show host from the Philippines.
Background and early history
Karen was exposed to the world of Filipino "haute couture" at an early age. Her grandmother, Esperanza Fabella Pamintuan, had a dress shop frequented by Manila's top 400 families, and her aunt, Beatriz Pamintuan Tesoro, better known as Patis Tesoro, is an internationally known Filipino fashion designer who specialized in elaborate embroidered 'haute couture' wedding gowns using "jusi," a delicate material woven in the province of Laguna, Philippines, from pineaple fibers. Karen Pamintuan would visit her cousin Raffy Tesoro at the Patis Tesoro fashion house in San Juan City. Raffy Tesoro directed most of Patis Tesoro's fashion shows, and encouraged Pamintuan, who was already 5' 8" at age 15, to become a model.
Modeling career
Raffy Tesoro entered Karen Pamintuan in her first runway show for Jun-Jun Cambe's debutante collection in 2002. She was then invited by the Philippine's fashion icon Ben Farrales to model for his charity gala show at the Shangri-La Hotel in Makati, and then continued to do runway shows for famous Filipino designers, such as Rajo Laurel.
Karen was later invited her to join a contest advertised in Seventeen Magazine Philippines and won the "Miss Chanel International Model Search," still at the age of 15. Karen was selected from among a group of top young models in the Philippines by Maya Calica, editor, and Lilen Uy, photographer of Seventeen Magazine Philippines, to become the cover girl; they awarded her the first-ever title of Seventeen Model Of The Year in 2002. She was cover girl for the magazine in May 2003 and October 2005.
Karen's exposure in Seventeen got her noticed by an advertising agency scout and she was cast to do her first print ad for a telecom company. Karen went on to do several T.V. commercials, print ads and countless editorials, and has been featured in Philippine magazines such as Mega, Preview, Candy, Chalk Magazine, Meg, Cosmpolitan, Metro, Lifestyle Asia, People Asia, and Philippine Tatler.
Karen was then very fortunate to be chosen by noted photographer and "America's Next Top Model" judge Nigel Barker during an exhibition event sponsored by DKNY and Philippine Tattler at Ayala Malls in Makati and Alabang during his visit to the Philippines in 2007.
