Karen Nicholson

Karen Nicholson (born December 9, 1982 as Karen Gordon) is a Scottish actress, director and producer. She is from the well known family tree of actors. She is the great great grandaughter of Margaret Mackay and Andrew Mackay. Gordon's career started when she casted in the film The Childminder in 1987. Then starred in the film Big in 1988 which was her big breakthrough as an actress she was offered film after film. In 1989 she starred as Jamie in the film Far from Home with Drew Barrymore. In 1990 she was in the film Nightmare Neighbors Next-Door directed by mother Christine Gordon. Karen also had other major roles in films such as Poison Ivy, Mrs. Doubtfire, Big Daddy, 10 Things I Hate About You, , The Good Girl, School of Rock, The Hangover, Couples Retreat, , The Intern, Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, Meet The Mitchells and Grandparents. Karen has also starred in TV Soaps such as Hollyoaks and Coronation Street.
Early Life and Family
Nicholson was born in Bonar Bridge, Scotland to the Scottish actor and actress Christine Gordon (1959-) and Angus Gordon (1958-). Karen Nicholson's mum was born on a croft just outside of Bonar Bridge, Scotland. Christine and Angus married on 5th September 1978 in Dornoch Cathedral and are still married. Nicholson was born into acting her whole family of actors stretches right back to 1845.
