Karen Hartstein

Karen Hartstein of St. Louis Missouri is very passionate about charity and philanthropy[1]. In the world that we live in there are those who are less fortunate than we are. If the more fortunate forget that it’s their job to help others, then the world around us and the people in it will truly fall to pieces. That’s why helping others is so important to Karen Hartstein and why it’s a very large part of her life.

For over 10 years Karen Hartstein worked at the Larry Rice’s Homeless Shelter in her hometown of St. Louis Missouri. She began her tenure in charity by serving dinner at this homeless shelter on Christmas day. Since Karen Hartstein grew up in a Jewish family she was able to help give her less fortunate neighbors a better Christmas.

Because of Karen’s drive, after a couple of years of volunteering the shelter asked Karen Hartstein if she would assist in taking some of the homeless on errands to do things like get medication around the St. Louis Missouri area and go to doctor appointments if they were sick. Outside of this, Karen was a driving force in helping sick children that were born to crack mothers with the shelter as well. Karen would take the children to the hospital for important doctor’s appointments and really made it possible for many of these children to have a future.

Along with the homeless shelter, Karen Hartstein was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. If you’re unfamiliar, Meals on Wheels is a charity that provides the elderly who cannot take care of themselves with hot meals and company that they would otherwise not receive. Karen Hartstein was also awarded for her work providing aid to children with cranial abnormalities. Combining her love of sports and charity, Karen Hartstein also volunteered her time to teach children in her area how to play tennis[2].

Charity and philanthropy are extremely important to making sure that our society works properly, and that’s part of the reason why Karen Hartstein is so passionate about it. This website is dedicated to displaying the charitable works of Karen Hartstein, and also hoping to encourage others to participate in philanthropy in and around the St. Louis Missouri area like she has.
