Karen Bacolod is a Planning Commissioner for Artesia California. When appointed in early 2016, she became the youngest commissioner in the city's history. The City of Artesia's five person Planning Commission is an administrative body that implements the City’s Vision, Artesia General Plan 2030 developed by the community and local government. Karen Bacolod is also a Senior Field Energy Consultant for Solarcity, a provider of clean energy services that designs, finances, and installs photovoltaic systems, performs energy-efficiency audits, and retrofits and builds charging stations for electric vehicles. Karen Bacolod was formally the COO of Adlife Medical Supply and Equipment Inc. Adlife Medical Supply is a family owned business with a mission to provide convenient and timely delivery of quality medical equipment to physicians of home health, hospital and hospice partners. Karen Bacolod was also a Brand Ambassador for Compasionate Commerce. Compassionate Commerce is a brand building company dedicated to organic and fair trade products partnering with companies who have quality products and are committed to environmental and social justice. Projects Orange County Environmental Justice Project The Orange County Environmental Justice Project (OCEJP), a fiscally sponsored project of the Tides Center and The Advocacy Fund, will launch an affiliated pair of multi-cultural, multi-ethnic 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) environmental justice organizations to develop grassroots leadership and advance an environmental justice agenda in our region. OCEJP is governed by an Organizing Committee committed to environmental justice and integrating deep connections to local Latino and Asian American/Pacific Islander communities in Orange County. Volunteer Work 38th District Congressional Liasion - Rep. Linda Sanchez at Citizens' Climate Lobby Citizens Climate Lobby is a non-profit, non-partisan, grassroots advocacy organization focused on generating the political will necessary for passage of progressive climate policy. As a CCL Congressional Liaison of the 38th district, Karen Bacolod worked with Rep. Linda Sanchez and her staff to advocate for national climate policy such as our Carbon Fee and Dividend Proposal. Artesia Annual Earth Day Expo at Team Artesia Karen Bacolod leads Team Artesia which is a volunteer group for the City of Artesia, CA and a program to enhance the delivery of quality services by promoting citizen participation within City government. The program is designed as an avenue for residents with a variety of backgrounds to participate in City government.
