Kappa Pi Sigma

History
Kappa Pi Sigma (ΚΠΣ) is a co-ed Christian based fraternity founded on February 11, 2001 at Southwestern Christian College in Terrill, Texas. Anthony Cox, along with an unknown co-founder, had the idea of organizing a Greek letter fraternity and sorority that would exemplify the ideals of unity, brotherhood/sisterhood and community service. Anthony Cox is accredited for the idea of Kappa Pi Sigma (also known as K Pi Sig, or K Pi) along with an unknown co-founder. Cox wanted to organize a Greek letter fraternity and sorority that would exemplify the ideals of Unity, Scholarship, and Service. Kappa Pi Sigma performed community service throughout cites in Terrell, Dallas, and Forth Worth area of Texas.
Expansion
In 2008, a K Pi Sig member, Joshua Banks transferred Prairie View A & M University. He planned on starting a chapter. Kappa Pi Sigma didn't have an official chapter, nor had it even been recognized at all. Banks soon introduced his idea to a fellow student named Jamekia Goodman. Goodman had been highly involved around the campus of Prairie View, including being a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. Together; they began the framework of what will soon be the Alpha Chapter of Kappa Pi Sigma.
The colors are black, silver and pink.
The mascot is the Knight of the Light.
The motto is: “We walk by Faith, and not by Sight, to get to the Light, which is Jesus Christ.”
