Kapatiran Arnis

Kapatiran Arnis is a martial art group formed in February 2001 by John Harvey of the UK from a blend of LaPunti Arnis de Abanico, Balintawak Eskrima, Serrada, Modern Arnis and Doce Pares. John Harvey along with Pat O'Malley had founded Rapid arnis in 1993 and where training partners for nearly 20 years until they separated in 2000 to head up their own groups. In May 2009 John Harvey was awarded the rank of Grand Master in the Philippines by Dionisio Canete of Doce Pares Original Multi Style and Nick Elizar of Nickelstick Balintawak Eskrima both based in Cebu City, Philippines. This style uses aspects from Espada y daga, Solo baston, Mano Mano and many other aspects of Filipino martial arts (FMA) as well as other systems, using a "take whatever works" attitude. |
