Justin Allen (born April 25, 1974) is an American writer of speculative fiction. Life and Education Justin Allen was born and raised in Boise, Idaho. He received a B.A. in Philosophy from Boise State University, and an M.F.A. in Fiction Writing from Columbia University. He lives in Harlem, New York City, with his wife, Day Mitchell. Writing career Slaves of the Shinar (The Overlook Press, 2007) is a Historical Fantasy novel that purports to explore the origins of characters and peoples found primarily in Middle-Eastern myths and religious texts — most notably the Book of Genesis and the epic of Gilgamesh. Year of the Horse (The Overlook Press, Oct. 2009) Is a fantastical historical fiction story set in the old west. |
